Plain Rice Pulao


Pulao is a very common traditional dish in the south Asian subcontinent. This is a very simple and basic pulao recipe that you can serve with any type of curry, korma, fish and vegetable. There are so many different types of pulao recipes out there but this is the most simple and delicious one.


INGREDIENTS

  1. Basmati Rice - 4 cups 
  2. Onions - 1/2 cup sliced 
  3. Green chilies - 5
  4. Bay leaves - 2 
  5. Cardamom - 4 
  6. Cloves - 3 
  7. Cinnamon - 2 stick
  8. Ginger & Garlic paste - 1 tbsp 
  9. Fried onions - 2 tbsp 
  10. Ghee - 2 tbsp 
  11. Oil - 2 tbsp 
  12. Kewra water - 1 tsp 
  13. Salt - 1 tsp 
  14. Milk - 1 cup 
  15. Water - 2 cup 

Way To Cook 

  1. In a pan add oil and ghee then add bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick and try 30 seconds. 


  • Then add onions and ginger garlic paste and fry until light brown in colour. 

  • At this stage add rice and salt then sauté for 1 minute. 


  • Now add the milk. 
(If you don't want add milk then skip the milk and  you can also add 3 cups of water.)


  • And also add the water and gradually mix.

  • When is starts to boil add green chilies and mix.

  • Then close it with a lid in low heat until water elaborate.

  • Finally add the Kewra water.

  • And also garnish with fried onions.
