Butter Dal Halwa / Chana Dal Halua is probably one of the popular Halwa in South Asia Subcontinent. But compared to other halwa's making chana Dal halwa is more complicated and time consuming. The main intention of today's recipe to reduce the completed steps and making in a way that takes less time. It is like instant chana dal halwa. I know it may sound like wired but the outcome of this recipe is very similar to the original recipe. I would definitely advise to give this simple recipe a try if your planning to make chana dal Halwa.
INGREDIENTS
- Ghee - 1/3 cup
- Gram flour - 1 cup
- Semolina - 4 tbsp
- Milk - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chopped almonds - 1 tbsp
- Chopped Pistachios - 1 tbsp
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a pan add ghee , gram flour and semolina then roast in medium low heat until well combined.
- Then add 1/2 cup of milk then mix well for 2 minutes.
- Then add sugar and mix well.
- Now add other half of the milk and mix well.
- Now time to add nuts.
- Add almonds, Pistachios and cardamom powder and mix for 5 minutes in medium heat.
- Then apply some ghee to a tray.
- Add the prepared halwa to the team and shape.
- Add chopped nuts on to garnish and press with a spatula.
- After its come to room temperature chill in the refrigerator.
- Then cut into pieces.
