Shemai is a very popular dessert in Asia and very much loved by the people. Especially during Eid it is a must have dessert for almost every family. Thus delicious shemai is really easy to make also doesn't take long time to prepare.
INGREDIENTS
- Vermicelli - 1 packet
- Cashew - 2 tbsp
- Pistachios - 2 tbsp
- Raisins - 1 tbsp
- Orange juice - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Rose water - 1 tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - 1/4 cup
- Gulab Jamun - Garnishing
- Food colour -1/4 tsp
INSTRUCTIONS
- Break the vermicelli into 3 parts.
- Mix water and food colour and set aside.
- Keep a pan in medium flame and add ghee let it to melt.
- And add cardamom, cinnamon stick.
- Then add vermicelli roast until brown in colour.
- Now add the cashews, Pistachios and raisins mix well. Roast the nuts as well.
- At this stage add orange juice and water mixed with food colour mix well.
- Cook well.
- Now add sugar mix well.
- At this stage cover with the lid and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
- After 5 minutes it looks like this.
- Finally add rose water mix.
- Transfer to a plate.
- Then garnish with Gulab Jamun.
