TRADITIONAL VANILLA CAKE

INGREDIENTS                 SERVES 10 

Butter                                     250G 
White Sugar                          250G 
Eggs                                          4 
Flour, sifted                          250G 
Baking powder                     4g 
Vanilla Essence                   5ml 


       METHOD 


  1. Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius
  2. Line a 1 kg  baking pan with oil paper and keep aside. 
  3. Use a mixing bowl or electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar together for 3 minutes at moderate speed until light and creamy.
  4.  Then add one egg at a time and beat till the
    sugar dissolves completely, while scraping down sides of the bowl. 
  5. Sift the flour and baking powder together and gradually fold flour mixture and vanilla into the cream mixture at low speed until well blended. 
  6. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan. 
  7. Bake at 180 degree Celsius for 45 to 50 minutes, when baking is done, cake should spring back when lightly touched. 
  8. Remove from pan, allow to cool and peel off the paper. 
  9. Allow cake to cool before covering.
