Have you ever had what i call a "Ratatouille moment?", you may have had one without realizing it, so me explain what this is: In the tender movie Ratatouille, a food critic site down at a restraint table and tastes a dish of Ratatouille, a combination of eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers and a blend of seasonings and spices. As soon as his fork hits his lips, he's immediately transposed to his childhood. He traveled back to sitting at his mother's table filling himself with this comforting dish laced with bursting flavors and of course, love for me, oatmeal brings a Ratatouille moment; however, for those who don't like the taste of regular oatmeal, i have rounded up some inventive recipes to make your morning fun and healthy. Coking with oats like never before.
FOR CRUST AND TOPPING
- 1 1/2 CUPS OATMEAL
- 1 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
- 1 1/2 CUPS LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
- 1/2 TSP BAKING POWDER
- 10 1/2 TBSP MELTED BUTTER
FOR FILLING
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 large eggs
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line an 8*8 inch baking pan with aluminium foil and add some oil.
- combine flour, oats, light brown sugar and baking powder in a medium bowl, add melted butter and stir ti combine.
- press half of mixture firmly into the pan and bake about 8 minutes, cool it.
- to make the filling, melt the butter and chocolate chips together and stir until it's smooth.
- whisk together flour and sugar in a bowl.
- whisk eggs into cooled chocolate mixture: then stir in the flour mixture.
- pour chocolate filling over cooled crust and top with remaining oatmeal mixture.
- bake 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
