Zabalione is extremely delicious and easy to make classic Italian dessert or custard. The custard is rich, creamy and has nice shiny texture to it. If you like to impress your guest with an incredibly delicious dessert which takes very less time and effort to make then this Zabalione recipes for you.
There are many variation on Zabalione out there, but the classic Zabalione recipe calls for only three ingredients which a egg yolks, sugar and wine of your choice (Vin Santo or Marsala are the classic ones to use.) Then you can serve your Zabalione with any fruits, chocolates, biscuits or any topping of your choice the options are endless.
Today I have shared a non alcoholic version of this delicious Italian custard and it is as delicious as a regular one. Since this is a warm dessert it as to be made just before serving.
INGREDIENTS
- Strawberries - 8-10 pieces
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Egg yolk - 5 large size
- Sugar - 4 tbsp
- Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
- Chocolate shaving - optional
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the strawberries into quarters and transferred to a bowl.
- Then add sugar (1 tbsp) and mix.
- Then keep this aside. Meanwhile we start to make the custard.
- In a bowl add egg yolks.
- Then add 4 tbsp of sugar, vanilla essence and then whisk.
- Keep whisking until sugar dissolves.
- Keep a pan with simmering water then place the egg bowl over it. (Double boiling method)
- Continue whisking for 6 to 7 minutes or more until the mixture is thick and creamy.
- In strawberry bowl you can see sugar dissolves and strawberries become juicy.
- Now serve immediately after custard is ready.
- In a dessert glass at some juicy strawberries as first layer.
- Then pour the warm custard on it.
- Finally add some chocolate shavings to garnish
