Homemade Tomato Ketchup or Sauce




Tomato Ketchup Recipe |Tomato Sauce | Cooking Basic | How to Make Tomato Sauce at Home


IINGREDIENTS 

  1. Tomatoes - 1 kg
  2. Salt - 1/4 tsp 
  3. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp 
  4. Sugar - 1/4 cup 
  5. White vinegar - 1/4 cup 

INSTRUCTIONS 


  • Wash the tomatoes. 
  • Keep some water in a saucepan and bring it to simmer.
  • Then add the tomatoes to the simmering water. 
  • Boil for 5 to 6 minutes or until the skin of the tomatoes start to peel.
  • Close the saucepan while boiling the tomatoes. 

  • Then add the boiled tomatoes to the blender jar (with or without skin)  .
  • Then blend until smooth puree..

  • Then filter the tomato puree using a sieve to a pan on medium heat . 

  • Then add salt, red chilli powder, sugar, white vinegar and mix well. 

  • It takes time to get right consistency for tomatoe ketchup. 

  • Mix in between times of boiling. 

  • To check the correct consistency of the ketchup,
  • Take a little amount of sauce in a spoon then add that to a plate.

  • Then the water should not come out of it alone when you slide the plate.
  • You can preserve this ketchup in  a air tight container in refrigerator for 3 weeks.
