Spicy Egg Pitha

Spicy egg pitha is one of the very popular Bangladeshi pitha. This pitha is the spicy version of very popular Poa Pitha or teler pitha. To make this yummy pitha you will only need a few ingredients and most of which you will find in your kitchen. Also it is very easy and quick to make this Spicy egg pitha.


INGREDIENTS 

  1. Rice flour - 1 cup 
  2. Salt - 1/4 tsp 
  3. Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp 
  4. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp 
  5. Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Garlic and ginger paste - 1 tsp 
  8. Onion paste - 1 tbsp 
  9. Eggs - 2 large size
  10. Water - 1/4 cup or more 
  11. Chopped green chilies - 2 medium size
  12. Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp 

INSTRUCTIONS 


  • In a bowl add rice flour, salt, pepper powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and turmeric powder. 
  • Mix the dry ingredients first.

  • Then add ginger & Garlic paste, onion paste and eggs. 
  • Then mix with a whisk.

  • Then add water gradually.

  • The batter should not be very thin but enough to be poured or dropped fr a spoon. 
  • Once the batter comes together whisk for 3 to 4 minutes straight. 
  • This incorporates air in the batter which makes them fluffy.

  • Finally add green chilies and coriander leaves. .
  • Mix well.
  • Then rest 10 minutes. 

  • Keep a frying pan in hight and add oil for deep fry.

  • Take a spoon full of the mixture. 
  • Then pour that to the oil. ( at this time turn the flame into medium)

  • Pour the hot oil on top of the pitha .

  • Flip evevery 30 seconds. 

  • Fry until golden brown. 

  • Now you can enjoy your Spicy Egg Pitha with ketchup or chicken gravy.
