Fish Curry |Fish gravy|Rui macher kalia|Tasty Fish Curry|
INGREDIENTS
- Mustard oil - 5 tbsp
- Rohu fish - 500 g
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cloves - 2 pieces
- Cinnamon stick - 2 pieces
- Dried red chili - 2 pieces
- Cardamom - 4 pieces
- Bay leaves - 1 piece
- Chopped onions - 1/2 cup
- Blended onion - 1/2 cup
- Ginger & Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Blended tomatoes - 2 medium size
- Yogurt & cashew paste- 1/2 cup yogurt & 10 to 12 cashew nuts
- Hot water - 1 cup
- Green chilies - 5 to 6 pieces
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
INSTRUCTIONS
- Season the fish wish salt and turmeric powder marinate both the sides.
- Take a non stick pan in medium flame then add mustard oil to heat.
- Then add the marinated fish pieces and fry the each side for 3 minutes.
- Flip the fish and for another 3 minutes.
- Then take out from the oil.
- In the same pan with fried oil add whole spices.
- Cloves, cinnamon stick, dried red chilli, cardamom and bay leaf.
- Fry for few seconds.
- The add chopped onions fry until onions are translucent.
- Now add the blended onion paste and ginger and garlic paste then sauté.
- Now add the spice powder.
- Salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder.
- Mix well.
- Add tomatoe paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add yogurt and cashews paste.
- Then mix well.
- At this stage add the hot water and mix well.
- Let the gravy simmer for 3 minutes in low flame.
- Now add the fried fish pieces to the gravy.
- Close with the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
- Open the lid and add Green chilies, chopped coriander leaves.
- Again close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes then switch off the flame.
- Now our tasty fish gravy is ready to serve.
- You can eat this fish curry with rice, chappathi, rotti or any other main dish.
