In india,  bombay halwa is not very common type of halwa because all of the other tasty halwa,  burfi this easy and simple yet delicious halwa is sometimes forgotten. This is probably the quickest recipe among all the halwa recipes and doesn't need many ingredients. This bombay halwa also looks very appetising because most of the time it is cooked with different food colours. In this recipe, I have tried to create a layer of two colours to take the look to the next level. Hopefully, you like the recipe.



INGREDIENTS

  1. Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar - 1 cup 
  3. water - 2 cups
  4. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  5. Ghee - 1/3 cup
  6. Nuts - almonds, cashews, Pistachios and raisins
  7. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Food colour - yellow & green

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a large mixing bowl add corn flour and water mix without any lumps.

  • Keep a pan in medium heat and add sugar along with 1/2 cup of water and mix well until sugar dissolves.

  • When sugar syrup simmering add lemon juice and mix. 

  • Now pour the Cornflour mixture to the sugar syrup and mix continuously in low medium heat. 

  • Cook until thick and add 2 tbsp of ghee then mix continuously

  • After few minutes of mix add another 2 tbsp of ghee with nuts,  cardamom powder and mix well.

  • Divide the halwa into 2 portions and add green food colour to one portion and mix well. 

  • Add yellow food colour to the other portion and mix well. 

  • In a glass container add the yellow and green halwa alternatively.

  • Let it to come room temperature and set completely

  • Cut and serve.
