Chicken Biriyani


INGREDIENTS

  1. Basmati Rice - 1/2 Kg
  2. Chicken - 1 kg
  3. Oil -1/2 cup
  4. Chopped Onions - 1.5 cup
  5. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  6. Grated ginger & Garlic - 2 tbsp
  7. Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  8. Tomatoes - 2 cups
  9. Biriyani masala - 1 packet
  10. Hot water - 5 cups
  11. Green chilies - 6 pieces
  12. Rose water - 2 tsp


INSTRUCTIONS



  • Soak the basmati rice for 15 to 20 minutes. 

  • Keep a pan in medium high heat add oil (You can also use ghee instead of oil or ghee 1/4 cup and oil 1/4 cup.)
  • Then add onions and salt sauté the onions until golden brown colour. 

  • Then add ginger and garlic sauté for 3 minutes.

  • Add yogurt and mix well. 

  • Now add tomatoes mix well and close with a lid to cook well.

  • Also add biriyani masala mix well. 

  • Now add little amount of water and cook until simmer.

  • Cook until oil separates.

  • Now add the chicken mix well with the gravy.  
  • Close with lid and let the chicken cook for 80%.

  • Strain the water of soaked rice.

  • Open the lid and give a mix then take out the chicken from the gravy.

  • Add the rice to the gravy and mix.

  • Then add hot water mix well also add 1/2 tsp Salt of your taste. 

  • Now add the chicken pieces mix well. 

  • Add green chilies close with the lid until rice cook well.

  • Open the lid and mix well.

  • Finally add rose water and close with the lid for 1 minute and serve.

  • Serve hot and enjoy.
