- Basmati Rice - 1/2 Kg
- Chicken - 1 kg
- Oil -1/2 cup
- Chopped Onions - 1.5 cup
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Grated ginger & Garlic - 2 tbsp
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes - 2 cups
- Biriyani masala - 1 packet
- Hot water - 5 cups
- Green chilies - 6 pieces
- Rose water - 2 tsp
INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak the basmati rice for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Keep a pan in medium high heat add oil (You can also use ghee instead of oil or ghee 1/4 cup and oil 1/4 cup.)
- Then add onions and salt sauté the onions until golden brown colour.
- Then add ginger and garlic sauté for 3 minutes.
- Add yogurt and mix well.
- Now add tomatoes mix well and close with a lid to cook well.
- Also add biriyani masala mix well.
- Now add little amount of water and cook until simmer.
- Cook until oil separates.
- Now add the chicken mix well with the gravy.
- Close with lid and let the chicken cook for 80%.
- Strain the water of soaked rice.
- Open the lid and give a mix then take out the chicken from the gravy.
- Add the rice to the gravy and mix.
- Then add hot water mix well also add 1/2 tsp Salt of your taste.
- Now add the chicken pieces mix well.
- Add green chilies close with the lid until rice cook well.
- Open the lid and mix well.
- Finally add rose water and close with the lid for 1 minute and serve.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
