Caramel Custard


Easy caramel custard recipe | Caramel Pudding recipe 

Caramel Custard is a rich and decadent Caramel dessert and it has a smooth and creamy texture.  Caramel Custard is different in taste and texture than a regular caramel Pudding.


INGREDIENTS 

  1. Sugar - 1/2 cup 
  2. Water - 2 tbsp 
  3. Heavy cream - 1 cup
  4. Egg yolks - 6 medium sized eggs
  5. Sugar - 2 tbsp
  6. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp 
  7. Salt - pinch 
  8. Milk - 1 cup 

INSTRUCTIONS 


  • In a medium flame keep a saucepan add sugar and water.
  • Do not stir, swril the pan if necessary. 

  • Once it turns into amber colour caramel quickly add the cream.
  • Pour the cream carefully as it starts to bubble up. 
  • Mix well with a whisk while poring the cream.

  • Take it off the heat when we'll combined. 
  • Let it cool about 10 minutes. 

  • In a large bowl separate the egg whites and egg yolks. 

  • Then to the egg yolks add sugar, vanilla essence, salt and mix well. 

  • Then add the milk to that and mix well.

  • Now add the cream caramel mixture. 
  • Mix until well combined. 

  • Strain the mixture into a jug.

  • Pour the mixture slowly to a heat resistant cups.

  • Then pour hot water half way through the remekins .


  • Bake 50 to 60 minutes in 150*C .

  • Alternatively, to do in stove, place a metal stand into a pan .
  • Add hot water to the pan .
  • Pour the mixture to the cups and cover with aluminium foil.
  • Close with a lid and steam for 45 to 50 minutes on low heat.

  • Take out the oven baked custard and let it too cool completely. 
  • Cover and refrigerate 4 to 5 hours before serving. 

  • Serve chill.
