Tiramisu is a coffee flavoured dessert that contains mascarpone cheese, sugar, cocoa powder and lady finger: A fundamental ingredient in tiramisu. The combination of cream and cheeses make it rich and flavourful cheesecake.
Tiramisu can be baked with the addition of eggs white for texture of it can also be no bake cake, which is also very delicious.
INGREDIENTS
- Digestive biscuits - 10 pieces
- Melted butter - 4 tbsp
- Instant coffee - 2 tbsp
- Warm water - 1 cup
- Whipping cream - 200ml (cold)
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cream cheese - 1 cup
- Mascarpone - 1 cup
- Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
- Lady finger - 10 to 12 pieces
- Cocoa powder - 2 to 3 tbsp
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a food processor add digestive biscuits and process into crumbs.
- Then add melted butter then pulse 2 to 4 times until mix well.
- Add the mixture to a 8 inch spring form pan and press down for base.
- Then refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Add coffee powder and warm water to a cup and mix well.
- Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
- In a large bowl add whipping cream and sugar then beat until soft peaks.
- Add cream cheese, mascarpone, vanilla essence beat again to well combined.
- Add half of the mixture to the pan spread well.
- Take a lady finger and quick dunk in the coffee mixture.
- Then place the lady finger the pan as a layer.
- Then add the rest of the cream and spread well.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Dust with cocoa powder.
