INGREDIENTS 

For Marination 

  1. Pomfret Fish - 1 kg
  2. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp 
  3. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp 
  4. Salt - to taste 
  5. Lemon - 2 tbsp 


  1. Oil - 1/2 cup 
  2. Onion - 1.5 cup 
  3. Green chilies - 5 small size 
  4. Salt - to taste 
  5. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp 
  6. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp 
  7. Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp 

INSTRUCTIONS 


  • Clean the fish well and put cuts on the fish.
  • Then pat dry the excess water in the fish using a tissue paper. 

  • In a small ball add Chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, lemon mix well until paste.

  • Apply the spice mix on the fish and keep aside to marinate for 1 hour.

  • In a frying pan in medium heat add oil.
  • After oil gets heat fry the fish.

  • Fry the fish 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. 
  • Transfer the fried fish to a plate and keep aside. 

  • In the same pan with oil add onions sauté well.

  • Close with the lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. 

  • After onions are brown in colour add green chilies, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder cook well.

  • Then keep aside the masala on the pan then keep the fried fish on the other side of the pan.

  • Cover the fish with onion masala.

  • Close with the lid and cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat.

  • Then flip to the other side then sprinkle the coriander leaves close with the lid cook another 5 minutes. 

  • Serve hot with lemon.
